It has Asia's largest remaining rainforests, and is home to astonishing landscapes, indigenous tribes and a rich biodiversity. As one of the world's largest oxygen-generating treasure, rainforests of Borneo is crucial in the global scale to mitigate the extent of climate change. Mighty Rovers 2008 will explore the virgin rainforests and experience native tribal culture of Borneo. Sarawak and Sabah are located on the northern Borneo. The landscape ranges from coastal areas, magnificent rainforests to freshwater plains, which are breeding grounds for a wide diversity of wildlife. Apart from balancing of greenhouse gases, the rainforest is the only natural habitat for the highly endangered Orangutan and other endemic species. Sarawak and Sabah have magnificent geological features. The spectacular caves and rock formation with distinct shapes and colours can be explored in Gunung Mulu National Park which is located on the north of Sarawak and renowned as a world heritage site. This is a golden opportunity to learn more about the rainforests and global environmental issues, and habituate yourself to the unique native culture through social services.
